Hi Brendan,
We have a wiki at work. One of the main problems with the wiki at work is it never got any support from management in the start. Years have gone past, and it has been left fairly unstructured and articles haven’t been to well thought out. It still hasn’t got “management approval” as such, but everyone knows it is there and can use it.
If you were going to start one at work, I would try and structure it the best you could. Get management to support it and let staff know that this is an official way of storing knowledge.
They seem to be the biggest problems / hurdles with our wiki at work.

Thanks Jason
I really appreciate your comments. I will definitely approach management to see if they will come on board and support it.

Brendan
Jason,
I wanted to let you know that I spoke with management today regarding the introduction of a Wiki. They had no idea what I was talking about to begin with but at the end of it they were that impressed with the idea that want it implemented straight away! So thanks again for your help.
Regards
Brendan
Sounds like a positive outcome there Brendan, Glad to here!

I’ve recently written a blog post about enterprise wikis, found some good examples of their success in the workplace. See if you find them helpful: http://benmccallum.wordpress.com/2009/09/06/wikis-in-the-enterprise/
